The process uses a combination of 3 energy sources to make it work. The dry ice pellets are accelerated in a jet of compressed air similar to that used in traditional blasting methods generally know as kinetic energy. When the dry ice pellets impact with the contaminates, a small thermal differential is established between the contaminant and the substrate and breaks the bond, know as thermal differentials. As the dry ice impacts the surface being cleaned the pellets instantaneously turns form a solid back into its normal gaseous state. Dry ice is made from compressed carbon dioxide. The rapid expansion of the gas removes the contaminant. This know as molecular expansion. BENEFITS Since dry ice is made from a gas it does not contain any moisture, the contaminants that are removed remain dry generally leaving a light dust that can be easily vacuumed or even captured in filters while the job is on progress. Therefore there is little additional cleanup after the cleaning is completed.. This significantly reduces disposal costs and in some cases completely eliminated. Also with the process being dry eliminates having to erect ovens and drying equipment for days to dry the windings. The process also reduces OH&S isues associated with the use of harmful chemicals and also the reduced the risk of injuries trying to clean difficult places. There is rarely a need for disassembly and reassembly of equipment and with minimal cleanup, the required equipment downtime is very short. Due to the nature of the cleaning process due to the length and shape of the nozzles, it is access and thoroughly clean hard to reach places where human hands cannot or should not go.
